April 2026 is filled with long-awaited book-to-screen adaptations and new seasons of some of our favorite shows. So if you’re looking for an excuse to escape the allergy-inducing outdoors, we have plenty of excuses for you to stay curled up on the couch. These are the She Reads must-watches of the moment.

Movies

The Drama

What looks like a picture-perfect relationship starts to crack as unresolved feelings and messy truths bubble to the surface. As tensions rise, love gets complicated fast, turning into something much deeper—and a little more chaotic—than either of them expected. This will be releasing in theaters April 3, so grab your popcorn and warm blank because this will be a wild ride.

Hamlet

When a ghostly visit reveals that his father was murdered, Prince Hamlet sets out for revenge—but overthinking (and a lot of emotional spiraling) gets in the way. What follows is a mix of drama, deception, and tragedy as everything around him slowly falls apart. This movie will be release theatrically on April 10, and will be the adaptation we all desire.

Over Your Dead Body

A theater group putting on a haunting play quickly realizes the story might be a little too real. As strange events unfold, jealousy and obsession take center stage, turning their production into something far more unsettling than just a performance. The movie will realize in select theaters on April 24, featuring an unforgettable cast.

Apex

A man is dropped onto a remote island—only to realize he’s the target in a twisted game where the rich hunt humans for fun. With nowhere to run, he’ll have to outsmart his pursuers if he wants to make it out alive. This movie will exclusively be released on Netflix on April 24 with an intensity you will never forget.

TV Shows

The Testaments

Set years after The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments dives back into Gilead—but this time from multiple perspectives, including women working inside the system. As cracks begin to show, secrets, resistance, and long-buried connections start to unravel the regime from within. This new chapter releases on Hulu and Disney+, and promises high-stakes tension, shifting power, and the kind of slow-burn rebellion that’s impossible to look away from.

Euphoria (Season 3)

Season 3 of Euphoria is expected to pick up after a time jump, following the characters as they navigate life beyond high school—and all the chaos that comes with it. Rue continues her complicated journey with addiction and identity, while the rest of the group faces evolving relationships, ambitions, and consequences. Expect the same visually stunning, emotionally intense storytelling, just with even higher stakes and a more grown-up edge. This will air on HBO Max on April 12, for a long awaited continuation of a desired story.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles

This sharp and chaotic adaptation follows Margo, a young woman suddenly navigating single motherhood and serious financial stress. In true unconventional fashion, she turns to an unexpected online career—with some very questionable (but oddly effective) advice from her ex-pro-wrestler father. As Margo tries to build a life on her own terms, the series blends humor, messiness, and heart in a story that’s as unpredictable as it is relatable. Releasing on Apple TV+, this show will be the comedic and realistic entrainment you’ve been waiting for.

Beef (Season 2)

Season 2 of Beef shifts gears with a new cast and storyline, but keeps the same simmering tension and dark humor that made the first season so addictive. This time, the show explores a fresh conflict between two people whose lives become dangerously entangled, proving once again how small moments can spiral into something much bigger. Streaming on Netflix on April 16, expect sharp writing, emotional chaos, and characters making increasingly questionable decisions.
