Phoebe Dynevor to Star in Beach Read by Emily Henry

Phoebe Dynevor is set to lead Beach Read, 20th Century Studios’ adaptation of the bestselling novel by Emily Henry. Yulin Kuang, who also co-wrote the People We Meet on Vacation adaptation for Netflix, will direct from her own screenplay. The film is being produced by Neal H. Moritz under Original Films, with 20th Century Studios overseeing the project.

Conviction Jack Jordan

Conviction

Hulu has ordered Conviction, a new legal drama starring Elisabeth Moss and written by David Shore (creator of House and The Good Doctor). Based on the novel by Jack Jordan, the series follows defense attorney Neve Harper as she takes on a high-profile murder case, only to be blackmailed into risking her career and exposing her darkest secrets.

Finding Her Edge

Finding Her Edge, the Canadian sports drama based on the novel of the same name by Jennifer Iacopelli, has been renewed for a second season on Netflix. Since its January 22 release, the series centering on ambition, rivalry, and a complicated fake dating storyline, has remained in Netflix’s English TV Top 10, climbing to the #3 spot at the beginning of the month.

Boys of Tommen

Boys of Tommen Series

Prime Video is officially bringing The Boys of Tommen by Chloe Walsh to the screen. The adaptation will kick off with Binding 13 and Keeping 13, which are set to anchor the first eight-episode season currently in development.

Lights Out

Netflix is adapting Lights Out by Navessa Allen for television. Hannah Schneider (Why Women Kill, Accused) will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer, with Chernin Entertainment also executive producing. The 2024 BookTok sensation follows trauma nurse Aly and a masked vigilante hacker whose break-in sparks a dark, obsessive romance that quickly spirals beyond fantasy.

Scarpetta

The trailer for Scarpetta has been released. The adaptation is an upcoming crime drama developed by Liz Sarnoff and based on the bestselling series by Patricia Cornwell. The series stars and is executive produced by Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis, and will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 11, 2026.

Royal Spin

Royal Spin

Royal Spin, a scripted adaptation of the Buckingham Palace novel by Omid Scobie and Robin Benway, is in development at Peacock. Written by Emily Fox, the workplace drama follows an American press agent who trades her fast-paced career in Washington, D.C., for a communications role at Buckingham Palace. The project is produced by Universal Television, which secured the rights to the book in 2024 after a competitive bidding war.

The Mist

Warner Bros. is bringing Mike Flanagan and Stephen King back together for a new adaptation of The Mist, based on King’s 1980 novella. Flanagan is set to write and direct the film, producing through Red Room alongside Tyler Thompson, as well as Gary Barber and Chris Stone for Spyglass. The story first appeared in King’s collection Skeleton Crew and was previously adapted into a 2007 feature film and a 2017 television series.

The Griffin Sisters

The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits

After landing the rights to The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits in a competitive auction, Universal Pictures has tapped Amy Sherman-Palladino (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) to write and direct the feature adaptation of Jennifer Weiner’s bestselling novel. The story follows sisters Cassie and Zoe Griffin, whose meteoric rise to early-2000s pop fame is derailed by mounting pressure, buried resentment, and betrayal, forcing them to confront the fallout years later. We don’t have any information on casting or release dates yet, but will continue to update as we learn more.

Leo Woodall Joins Custom of the Country Adaptation

Leo Woodall will star alongside Sydney Sweeney in a new film adaptation of The Custom of the Country by Edith Wharton. The project is being developed by Studiocanal and Rabbit’s Foot Films, with Josie Rourke attached to direct and adapt the screenplay.

The Unknown by Riley Sager

Riley Sager is set to release his tenth novel, The Unknown, on August 4. The new thriller begins in 1926, when five women vanish from a remote island—only for history to seemingly repeat itself a century later. Promising another genre-bending, pulse-pounding mystery, this is a big win for thriller fans.

The Spellbound Histories Quartet by Isabel Ibañez

Isabel Ibañez has announced The Spellbound Histories Quartet, a new series of standalone adult historical fantasy romances set across Renaissance Europe. Each book will feature a new city, cast of characters, central mystery, and love story. Following Graceless Heart comes the second novel, Witch Dance, which takes place in Strasbourg in 1518 and centers on the infamous dancing plague. The book is slated for release in early 2027.

Samantha: The Next Chapter by Fiona Davis

Fiona Davis will release Samantha: The Next Chapter on October 13, in collaboration with American Girl. Set in 1920, 25-year-old Samantha Parkington fights for women’s suffrage while navigating a shocking theft of her inheritance. To recover what was stolen and protect her family’s legacy, she goes undercover in a New York criminal operation, discovering a very different side of the city.

Python by H.M. Wolfe

H.M. Wolfe’s Daggermouth and its upcoming sequel Python—together known as the Heart Duology—have been acquired for U.S. print, ebook, and audio publication by Scarlett Press and Simon Maverick Audio. There has been speculation that the second part of the duology will be released this November, though there is also talks of a 2027 release date. The indie published book has taken BookTok by storm, so we cannot wait to see what is in store for Wolfe and her future career.
