Florence Pugh Joins Zoe Kazan in East of Eden

Netflix is adapting John Steinbeck’s novel East of Eden with Zoe Kazan as writer/executive producer, and Florence Pugh set to star and co-produce. Not only was the novel adapted already in 1955, but it was directed by Zoe Kazan’s grandfather, Elia Kazan, and was James Dean’s first major film role. Steinbeck’s novel follows the Trask family and the Hamilton family, whose previous generations repeat the fall of Adam and Eve and the story of Cain and Abel.
