Dark Matter

Dark Matter Coming to Apple Summer 2024

Based on the bestselling novel by Blake Crouch, the adaptation of Dark Matter finally has a release date on Apple TV+. On May 8th, fans of the book will finally get to see Jason Dessen on screen, played by Joel Edgerton, in this heartfelt, multiverse sci-fi story. With similar success in the science fiction genre (including Severence, Silo and Foundation), viewers are optimistic that this could be another big hit for the streaming service. Crouch has also set quite the track record for adaptations as his Wayward Pines series was made into a TV show by M. Night Shyamalan, his book Recursion is now in the hands of Shonda Rhimes over at Netflix and his most recent novel, Upgrade, was just picked up by Amblin Partners.

R.F. Kuang’s Babel Optioned for Film

Bestselling fantasy author (and She Reads cover person… we might add) just announced that her dazzling stand alone novel, Babel, is headed to the screen with WIIP and Temple Hill Entertainment on board to handle the adaptation. In this twisty dark academia novel, a brilliant Chinese orphan is accepted into the Institute where she begins to discover the dark secrets of mysterious controlling system. A Gentleman in Moscow Limited Series

On March 29th, Amor Towles two million-copy bestselling novel, A Gentleman in Moscow, will be on Paramount+ as a limited series. America Ferrara Directorial Debut I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter

Barbie star, America Ferrara, will make her directorial debut adapting the book I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter. Recently it was announced that the movie will begin filming in Chicago. In development with Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures, the book centers around Julia, the daughter of Mexican immigrants living in the shadow of her deceased sister and dreaming of fame. As she sets out to see if her sibling was indeed as perfect as she’s been memorialized, Julia stumbles upon shocking family secrets.
