After a two-year wait, the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty is returning to screens. Unlike previous seasons, episodes will be dropping weekly on Wednesdays, with the first two slated to release July 16 on Amazon Prime Video. Lola Tung returns as Belly Conklin, who faces an agonizing decision between Jeremiah and Conrad.

The coming-of-age drama follows Belly’s summer getaways to Cousins Beach, where her mother’s best friend, Susannah Fisher, owns a house. Belly finds herself falling for both of Susannah’s sons, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad (Christopher Briney). But before she can act on her feelings, the Fishers are shaken by an unimaginable loss.

Season 2 saw Belly, Jeremiah, and Conrad navigate the aftermath of this loss and their love triangle while also fighting to keep the beach house from being sold. Tensions rise to a breaking point, barely contained by the shared desire to ward off attempts to buy the beach house. Meanwhile, Belly’s best friend Taylor (Rain Spencer) and her older brother Steven (Sean Kaufman) explore their budding relationship and finally become official by the end of the season.

New and veteran fans alike will devour this bittersweet final season. Love will be found and lost, secrets will come to light, and Belly will finally choose which boy she wants to spend her life with. But no matter who she chooses, one thing is for sure: summer will never be the same.

Based on the bestselling trilogy of the same name by Jenny Han, The Summer I Turned Pretty is a perennial testament to the anguish and joy of first love set against the sandy, sun-drenched backdrop of Cousins Beach. With three books to savor, fans of the show have plenty to dive into after the final episode drops.

We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han

It comes down to this final choice for Belly between Jeremiah and Conrad. After having fallen for both, she’s almost sure that she’s meant to be with Jeremiah. Almost. And as they start to talk about forever, Conrad realizes this might be his last chance to tell her how he really feels. In the last book in the series, we get to see the heart-squeezing conclusion to Belly and the Fisher boys’ story.
