The rights to bestseller One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle have been sold to Paramount Pictures. The story follows Katy, a woman reeling from loss on a trip to Italy. As she works towards healing in the Mediterranean, her late mother magically reappears as her 30-year-old self. Over the course of the summer, Katy gets to know her mother and herself in unexpected ways. Serle’s novel In Five Years is also currently in feature development at New Line.

Killers of the Flower Moon confirmed

The #1 New York Times bestseller by David Grann has been in the hands of Martin Scorsese, with Leonard Dicaprio in the lead, and eager fans have been waiting for the announcement of the film’s release on Apple TV+. It was announced this week that the film will debut at the Cannes Film Festival and be available widely in October. The story that follows the real-life Oklahoma serial murders of Osage tribe members is expected to be a hard hitting drama by a star-studded cast.

Happiness for Beginners by Katherine Center

Famous for books filled with heart, Katherine Center’s Happiness for Beginners has been adapted and will be out on Netflix this year, featuring Ellie Kemper of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The story about a recently divorced 32-year-old going on a wilderness survival course with her younger brother is the rom-com readers love seeing on screen. Starring Yellowstone’s, Luke Grimes, as her brother’s best friend, this book-to-stream romance will be worth falling for.

Millie Bobby Brown Pens YA Novel

Though we usually see book to screen news, this one is screen to book news! Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown announced she has a young adult novel on the way. Set to publish in September, Nineteen Steps is a historical fiction debut set in WWII and based around stories told to her by grandmother.
