Carmen Alvarez is the daughter of Cuban immigrants and a digital creator from Florida whose love of reading and passion for literacy drives her online presence. She makes book recommendations and gives reading tips on her Tik Tok and Instagram pages and uses her enthusiasm for and vintage clothing collection to capture the eye of those who may not usually seek out books to try to convert them into becoming life-long readers. While her focus is mainly on Latinx books, she constantly fills her social media pages with books by BIPOC and LGBTQ+ authors. Carmen lives in Tampa with her husband and two dogs.
