About Fiona Hewett
Fiona is a Classical Studies and English Lit double major at Smith College. She is head of the prose department at Smith’s literary magazine, Labrys, and a core team member of Smith’s art culture and literary magazine, Emulate. She loves all things ancient Greece–especially its tragedies, myths, and etymologies. When she’s not translating Homer for class, she’s reading V.E. Schwab, Margaret Atwood, or any magical realism she can get her hands on.
Fiona spent her childhood in Seattle, where her mom read Greek myths to her and translated Harry Potter spells from Latin. Now both ancient Greece and the Pacific Northwest inspire her writing. When she’s not at school, Fiona lives in Tempe, Arizona and escapes the heat by visiting Changing Hands. She spends her other free time running, thrifting, listening to 90’s Dad rock, and watching Formula One races. Fiona is currently applying to PhD programs in Classics and Comp Lit.
