With a marketing degree in hand but no desire to do the “salesy” stuff, Kristin Bustamante began pursuing a career in the publishing world with clients as diverse as a global technology company and a local startup magazine. After spending a couple years writing marketing copy for the riveting world of technology, Kristin made the leap of faith to become a full-time freelance editor and writer. During that time, she worked with outlets such as Arizona Parenting, Houston Family Magazine, Arizona Bride, Weddings in Houston, Insight, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, among others. Next up, tackling the online media world as the editorial director for SheKnows.com, one of the largest online women’s lifestyle properties. In her time at SheKnows, Kristin oversaw the brand’s ever-expanding portfolio of women’s and lifestyle websites and focused heavily on brand integrations across the sites. She created rich content campaigns for brands like Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Toyota and major TV networks. She had the privilege of working with a world-class team of editors, one who just happened to be Crystal Patriarche, founder of SparkPoint Studio. Kristin is now the Chief Content Officer for SparkPoint Studio, overseeing a growing digital and social media team that executes strategic campaigns for publishers, authors and brands. She also strategizes and manages the company’s brand partnerships and most recently developed a custom line of book-themed wines with Speak Wines. Above all else, Kristin loves creativity and creating real, relevant content.
