Fans of Bridgerton are getting excited about the new prequel series focusing on Queen Charlotte, the character we’ve come to know and love. The new trailer is here, and we think the new limited series looks brilliant!

In Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, made up of eight episodes, we’ll get to know Queen Charlotte better by traveling back in time to witness how she came to be the beloved character she is.

On September 24, 2022, Netflix released this first-look preview:

In the new series, we can expect to see how Queen Charlotte and King George’s marriage sparks a great love story and societal shift that sets the premise for the Bridgerton world we’ve fallen in love with.

On February 14, 2023, Netflix released the official teaser trailer:

Some of the returning faces you can expect to see: Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Agatha Danbury, Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton.

And new faces: India Ria Amarteifio as Young Queen Charlotte, Corey Mylchreest as King George, Katie Brayben as Vivian Ledger, Keir Charles as Lord Ledger, Sam Clemmett as Brimsley, Richard Cunningham as Lord Bute, Michelle Fairley as Princess Augusta, Tunji Kasim as Adolphus, and Rob Maloney as the Royal Doctor.

Shonda Rhimes, best known for being the creator, head writer, and executive producer of medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, will serve as the main writer on the show. Partnering with Rhimes will be producers Betsy Beers and Tom Verica.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story premieres May 4, only on Netflix.
