The Hoops Series From Kennedy Ryan Is Coming to Netflix
Kennedy Ryan’s Hoops book series is heading to Netflix, which has picked up the project for development as a drama series following a competitive bidding process. The sports romance series will be written by Adrian Dukes, and Ryan will act as an executive producer alongside retired NBA star Chris Paul and Dukes.

Before I Let Go Was Greenlit by Peacock
Kennedy Ryan’s Before I Let Go is officially moving forward at Peacock after more than three years in development. The series, first announced in 2023, will now be written and showrun by Attica Locke and Tembi Locke, with Ryan and Malcolm D. Lee remaining involved as executive producers.

We Have a Pride and Prejudice Release Date
The newest adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, written by Dolly Alderton, was recently teased at the Jane Austen Festival in Bath, England. During the festival, Alderton announced that the six-episode series will premiere on Netflix on December 3, 2026, and will closely resemble the 1813 novel by Austen. The cast of the miniseries includes Emma Corrin (Elizabeth Bennet), Jack Lowden (Mr. Darcy), Olivia Colman (Mrs. Bennet), Rufus Sewell (Mr. Bennet), and more.

Stassie and Nate Have Been Cast In Netflix’s Icebreaker Adaptation
Hannah Grace’s Icebreaker, one of BookTok’s favorites, is heading to Netflix with Unwell Production, and the leading characters have officially been cast. Ice skater Anastasia “Stassie” Allen will be played by Daisy Jelley, and hockey player Nate Hawkins will be portrayed by Connor Simos.
The Ex Vows Is Getting The Movie Treatment
Jessica Joyce’s romance, The Ex Vows, took BookTok by storm, and now it’s going to be hitting the screen. Pitt Street Productions locked down the feature film rights and plans to package the film ASAP. The production company is most known for its Amazon hit, The Last Sunrise, based on the novel by Anna Todd. Founder Brian Pitt, also saw success with the adaptation of the After franchise and the Beautiful Disaster franchise—both of which are adaptations.

Say Hello to Dani and Alec in the Fake Skating Adaptation
Lynn Painter has multiple adaptations currently in the works, with the latest news being the casting of Fake Skating. Set for a summer 2027 release, the high school hockey romance will feature Amélie Hoeferle, best known from Sterling Point, as Dani and Graham Campbell, who most recently appeared in the adaptation of The Shards, as Alec.

Brie Larson to Star in One Italian Summer Adaptation
Brie Larson is set to star as Katy Silver in Paramount Pictures’ adaptation of Rebecca Serle’s bestselling novel One Italian Summer. But, that’s not all. The Oscar-winning actress is also act as an executive producer alongside David Stone and Rebecca Serle. It was also announced that the film will be released May 12, 2028, the weekend of Mother’s Day.

Kristen Ciccarelli’s Crimson Moth Is in Development for TV Adaptation
The bestselling Crimson Moth fantasy romance series by Kristen Ciccarelli is being developed for television. The project is currently being shopped to buyers. Meanwhile, Wednesday Books has acquired the third and fourth books in the series, with Dark Descent set to publish in August 2027.

Emily Henry took to theater marquee signs around the world—including multiple states around the United States and throughout the United Kingdom— to announce her newest novel, Modern Classic, coming April 6, 2027. Though we don’t have a cover or synopsis yet, Henry has teased that the vibe is influenced by classic films and is loosely based on The Holiday.

Lauren Okie Is Back With Another Romance
Tropesick took the internet by storm this year, and now the romance author is back again with another love story: Thirtysomething. Ali Hazelwood Announced An Audio-First Novel
Ali Hazelwood has been known to produce audio-first releases before they come to print, but Bad in Bed, which its set to hit Audible on October 22, 2026, is the author’s first full-cast Audible Original romance novel. The story follows doctoral student Billie van Buren, whose life falls apart after a messy breakup when her ex-fiancé publicly insults her bedroom skills. The Love Hypothesis Is Getting a Sequel
Ali Hazelwood is full of surprises this September. The author surprised fans on Instagram this month with the announcement of a sequel to The Love Hypothesis, The Two-Body Problem, which is slated to come out February 2, 2027. The novel follows Dr. Adam Carlsen and Olive Smith as they try to balance their relationship, busy schedules, an ultra-competitive job market, and more. In the announcement, Hazelwood also announced that Amazon MGM Studios is already set to develop a film based on the novel. Looks like we haven’t seen the last of Tom and Lili.
