The past few years have been extremely busy for Colleen Hoover and it seems like she is only getting busier. In the past three years alone, four of her books, It Ends With Us, Regretting You, Reminders of Him, and Verity, have been adapted into films.
Verity
Verity, Hoover’s newest adaptation starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett is releasing in theaters on October 2, 2026. The Call Her Daddy podcast host, Alex Cooper, will make her acting debut in Colleen Hoover’s upcoming Verity. She is acting as herself and will interview Anne Hathaway’s character in a fictional episode of her podcast.
It Ends With Us
Based upon Hoover’s romantic drama of the same name, It Ends With Us starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni released in August of 2024. It follows the story of florist Lily Bloom and her experience in an abusive relationship. It was well received making sixth on Deadline Hollywood’s list of 2024’s “Most Valuable Blockbusters”. However, around the release of the film, rumors began to swirl of conflict between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The dispute between the actors escalated to legal action against each other that just recently resolved in spring of this year. Unfortunately due to the friction between them, it more than likely eliminates the possibility of It Starts With Us being adapted for the screen.
Regretting You
Directed by Josh Boone from a screenplay by Susan McMartin, Regretting You released in October of 2025. Following a mother and daughter facing tragedy and family secrets, it stars Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco, and Mason Thames.
Reminders of Him
In Hoover’s first screenplay co-written with Lauren Levine and directed by Vanessa Caswill, Reminders of Him released in March of 2026. It follows Maika Monroe as Kenna Rowan who is navigating life after six years in prison and attempting to reconnect with her daughter born while incarcerated. The cast also includes Tyriq Withers, Rudy Pankow, Lainey Wilson (in her film debut), Lauren Graham, and Bradley Whitford.

Heartbones Entertainment
Colleen Hoover and producer Lauren Levine co-founded a film production company called Heartbones Entertainment in 2024. Their first two projects were adaptations of Hoover’s books, Reminders of Him (March 2026), Verity (October 2026). Hoover’s company Heartbones Entertainment will be producing the upcoming Ali Hazelwood Love Theoretically adaptation that is in the early development stages. Though we don’t know much yet, we do know that Along for the Ride filmmaker Sofia Alvarez will be directing the romantic comedy.
Hoover has not released any details about upcoming books as of now. Her latest book called Woman Down was released in January 2026. It follows an author struggling to write after backlash from a movie adaptation of one of her books. She retreats to a secluded cabin to work on a suspense novel. Then one late night, a detective knocks on her door bringing disturbing news. Even more disturbing, he resembles a character from her book. They begin to meet for “research” sessions, and the lines between reality and obsession begin to dangerously blur.
