We love a good adaptation around here, but sometimes we get knocked off our boots from an absolutely can’t-stop-watching book-to-stream binge. And The Hunting Wives on Netflix is that for summer 2025. This steamy, chaotic, sapphic, small town drama will have your jaw on the floor and occasionally your hand over your eyes.
Based on the 2021 novel by May Cobb, this story takes place in a small town in Texas where an elite group of conservative wealthy wives have as much power as they do secrets. Sophie has just moved into town with her family and gets swept up in the world of socialite, Margo Banks. What starts as partying and late-night target practice soon turns into obsession as Sophie falls further into Margo’s web of chaos. When a teenage girl is murdered, everyone gets caught up in the investigation.

It’s also trending pretty hard on TikTok, so don’t miss getting swept up in the social media scene surrounding this show!
What do we know about season two of The Hunting Wives?
Other than that everyone is clamoring for it? Not much. So far, it’s only week one of the show’s release and there are cries all over social media for a season two to be announced. Season one wrapped in away that leaves the storyline open to possibility, but as of right now, no announcement has been made.
Akerman and Snow have both expressed interest in separate interviews about their hopes that the show will go on. Though the novel is a stand alone thriller, Cobb (an executive producer as well as the author) made tweaks to the series along with showrunner Rebecca Cutter to layer in surprises for readers. So, odds are there are already threads of ideas prepped and ready to go should Netflix give it the green light.
