***We can’t make this warning big enough: Spoilers ahead for The Hunting Wives S1!***
What a sexy, wild, and unpredictable first season of one of the most addictive shows of 2025! The debut of The Hunting Wives based on the novel by May Cobb had people binge-watching and eager for more of this juicy, gossipy, and murderous twisty tale. I’d be willing to bet that the sale of caffeinated beverages skyrocketed the minute this was released.
So, season one ended with Margo and Sophie having more than just a friendship. Margo was responsible for killing Abby as she was having an affair with Brad and Abby found out about Margo’s pregnancy. Margo then kills Abby to protect her family and Jed’s political career.
Sophie, after drinking, is confronted by Margo’s brother, Kyle, who threatens her, causing Sophie to run him over and dump his body in the lake.
Margo calls Kyle and Sophie accidentally answers the phone, so now Margo is aware that Sophie is involved.
Pastor Pete is caught abducting girls and commits suicide.
Callie confronts and shoots Jill, framing her for Abby’s murder.
We’re left with three people dead and each with a different killer as Abby’s mother, Starr, is dead, Jill is dead, and Kyle also does not live to see the finale credits.
All caught up? Now, let’s discuss what’s to come in season two! Wondering where this could possibly go next? I am as well! Let’s start with some of the facts:
- Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman are returning for the second season, of course! What would the show be without these leading ladies?
- John Stamos, Kim Matula, Cam Gigandet, Dale Dickey and Alex FitzAlan have been cast for season two.
- We don’t have a release date yet, but the show entered production in November 2025, so there’s room to hope for a 2026 release.
It’s not a ton to go on, but it’s what we have for now. So in the meantime, we can speculate! Here are my predictions and prayers for what could happen in season two of America’s newest addiction:

Sophie & Margo
With Kyle dead and Jill being believed to be responsible for Abby and Starr’s deaths, could the power dynamic between Sophie and Margo go even further this season? We all know Margo loves to be in control so I could see her covering up Sophie’s involvement in Kyle’s death but ultimately using it as a power move.

Sophie
From her ever-changing relationship with alcohol, to her past, and now with Kyle’s death on her mind, I could see a different side of Sophie that is more unhinged popping up in the new season.
Margo
With Kyle gone and Margo getting away with Abby’s death, will her shenanigans take a backseat or will there be more deception and lies to ensure that her secrets stay buried?
Callie
If Margo and Sophie work together to cover up Kyle’s murder, where does that leave Callie? I could see a potential plan where Callie tries to deceive Margo and get her to turn against Sophie or even the two trying to take an unhinged Sophie down.
If we really want to make it twisty, maybe Sophie and Callie realize Margo was seducing them for her own gain and those two team up to take down Margo.
Jed’s Political Career
With Jed running for governor, Margo’s criminal past, personal past, and Kyle’s death could cause a hiccup in their relationship as Jed wants to paint Margo as the perfect housewife and relate to the conservative families in town. If more skeletons from Margo’s past rise to the surface, we could see them butt heads in a War of the Roses type of way!
New Characters, New Murder?
Showrunner Rebecca Cutter has teased a new murder mystery in season two and the introduction of two new characters named Nadia and Lincoln. Will these two stir up trouble with the wives still standing or are they merely new potential victims that prove the likes of Margo, Callie, and Sophie will reign forever as the queens of Texas?
Let’s be honest, wherever Margo, Sophie, and May Cobb go, I will follow. Giddy up for season two of The Hunting Wives. I’m willing to bet it’s going to be an even crazier ride than any of us could guess!
