Kristin Hannah’s The Women Gets Film Option

With less than a month until her latest novel, The Women, hits bookshelves, #1 New York Times bestseller, Kristin Hannah, took to Instagram with a big announcement.

The latest novel from the internationally beloved author features nurses during the Vietnam war. This female-led historical fiction novel is sure to have Hannah’s trademark, heart-wrenching characters and drama that will have us grabbing the tissues and begging for more. Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group will be in charge of the adaptation, leaving us all excited to see The Women join the ranks of other novels of Hannah’s like The Nightingale and Firefly Lane.

Keanu Reeves Writes a Novel

The star of The Matrix saga and John Wick announced this month that he has partnered with one of his favorite authors, China Miéville, to produce a science fiction novel titled The Book of Elsewhere. Though the plot details are sparse, it is described as following the journey of an immortal warrior through time. It will release this summer on July 23. Reeve’s series BRZRKR is also expected to be developed into a live-action series on Netflix, giving fans of the actor multiple mediums to get their Keanu fix.

Anthony Kiedis’s Autobiography Optioned

If you are a rock fan, then the story of Red Hot Chili Pepper’s frontman should be a familiar pop culture story. Anthony Kiedis 2005 biopic Scar Tissue shared his journey through stardom and addiction, and now Universal is working on developing a film. After the success of other musician-based movies like Straight Outta Compton, this film is expected to be a thrilling story for fans of the band.
