Movies

Blockbusters and indie gems alike are hitting theaters this July, promising a cinematic feast for all movie lovers. From action-packed thrillers to heartwarming dramas, there’s a film for every mood.

Twisters

The nostalgia is real with this one. Ready to ignite a twisting fear into the guts of the next generation, Twisters is the next edge-of-your-seat disaster thriller from the producers of the Jurassic and Indiana Jones series. This next chapter of the 1996 hit movie Twister, starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, will put you in direct contact with one of nature’s most wondrous and dangerous forces. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar-nominated writer-director.

Boneyard

It’s fair to say that a lot of readers (and watchers) are addicted to true crime, and this movie starring Mel Gibson and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will hit all the marks for those looking for their next big watch. Inspired by true events, Boneyard follows Chief Carter (Jackson) and his partners, after the remains of 11 women and girls are found in the New Mexico desert, as they work to uncover the truth amidst a tangled web of suspicion.

Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot

Inspired by a true story, Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot follows Donna and Reverend Martin as they lead their rural church in adopting 77 foster children that no one else was willing to take. This is a remarkable story about an East Texas community that decided to fight for the most vulnerable, and proved that love and determination can win.

Fly Me to the Moon

Starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, Fly Me to the Moon is a sharp, stylish comedy-drama set during NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Marketing maven Kelly Jones (Johansson) is brought in to fix NASA’s public image, clashing with launch director Cole Davis (Tatum), and is eventually tasked with staging a fake moon landing as a backup plan.
